Terms of service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Calolean(“the Service”) you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should use the Service with a parent or guardian's involvement. Calorie restriction is not appropriate for children without medical supervision.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your account credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

3. Health disclaimer

The Service provides general information about nutrition and exercise. It does not provide medical advice and no doctor-patient relationship is created by using it.

Consult a qualified professional before starting any diet or exercise programme, particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, are managing diabetes, thyroid, cardiac, kidney or liver conditions, have a history of disordered eating, or are taking medication that interacts with diet or exercise.

Exercise carries inherent risk of injury. Form analysis is an aid, not a substitute for a qualified coach, and a good score is not clearance to lift a weight you are not ready for. Stop and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, breathlessness or chest discomfort.

4. AI output and accuracy

Food recognition, nutrition estimates, chat answers, generated plans and form scores are produced by AI models and are approximations. A photograph cannot measure the oil in a pan or the density of a portion. Figures may be materially wrong in either direction.

You are responsible for reviewing what the Service produces before acting on it. Do not rely on it where accuracy is medically important — for example in calculating an insulin dose or managing a diagnosed condition.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass or harm anyone.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data, or probe, scan or test the security of the Service without written permission.
• Use bots, scrapers or automation to access the Service, or otherwise attempt to bypass the usage limits.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the underlying models.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute output from the Service as if it were your own product.
• Upload content that infringes anyone's rights or is illegal.

6. Usage limits

AI features are subject to a rolling daily allowance, described on the pricing page. These limits exist because each AI request has a real cost, and they protect the free plan from automated abuse. We may adjust them, and will publish material changes on that page.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into the Service — your logs, photographs and messages. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the Service for you: processing your inputs to generate results, and storing your logs so you can see them later.

We do not use your content to train AI models. Food photographs are processed and discarded; workout video never reaches us at all.

8. Our content

The Service — its software, design, text and branding — belongs to Calolean and is protected by intellectual property law. You may use it as an end user; you may not copy, redistribute or create derivative products from it without permission. Nutrition data is derived in part from public sources including USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts, under their respective terms.

9. Advertising and affiliate links

The free plan is supported by clearly labelled sponsored cards and by affiliate links marked with an external-link icon, from which we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not endorse, warrant or take responsibility for third-party products, and any purchase is a contract between you and that merchant.

10. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may modify, suspend or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can, and this is a live product that changes often.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — the disclaimers, liability limits and intellectual property terms — do so.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Calolean is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including any decision you take based on its output. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those limits apply only to the extent permitted.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Caloleanagainst claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
